Cottonwood Selected to Join the Clixo Educator Ambassadors Program

Greenpoint learning center will bring magnetic building challenges to its TinkerLab and Agile Explorers classes

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — October, 2026 — Cottonwood, a community learning center in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, has been selected to join the Clixo Educator Ambassadors Program. As part of the program, Cottonwood has received a classroom set of Clixo, the award-winning magnetic building system made by fellow Brooklyn company Toyish Labs.

Cottonwood serves the homeschool community during the day and public school students in the afternoons. With both groups, the center focuses on project-based learning through the lens of play, collaboration, and curiosity. Clixo's flexible magnetic pieces, which fold from flat shapes into 3D creations, fit naturally into that approach.

Cottonwood plans to bring Clixo building challenges into its TinkerLab classes during the full-day program and into its Agile Explorers after-school classes.

"At Cottonwood, we are always looking for ways to support creative play," said Sara Taleff, Director. "As a small team, we welcome the chance to grow our network and to be in dialogue with other educators. We're so excited to join the Clixo Educator Ambassadors Program, and we can't wait to see what our students build."

The center credits its Creative Director, Christopher Taleff, for pursuing the opportunity and securing Cottonwood's selection.

Christopher states, "I was immediately drawn to the possibilities of open-ended creativity, rapid prototyping, and groupwork across ages offered by Clixo.  As someone deeply invested in bringing design thinking into educational spaces, this is an exciting new tool to explore with our learners.”
